Description

A conical shaped silver metal and epoxy device 3/4" in height by 21/32” in width comprised of a dark blue hexagon edged in silver bearing the stacked inscription “10 (20/30/40/50/60/70) YEARS” above a polestar in base, all silver, between a silver delta flight symbol above, an arched dark blue scroll doubled silver bearing the inscription “FEDERAL SERVICE” below and between a pair of elongated diagonally downward pointing delta flight symbols bearing the inscriptions “US” on the left and “SF” on the right.  The 40 and 50 year lapels feature a sapphire at the center of the upper delta while the 60 and 70 year lapels feature a diamond.

Symbolism

The lapel adapts several distinguishing elements used throughout United States Space Force insignia, emblems, and logo.  The iconic delta is most prominently represented atop while the two flanking deltas, which allude to the USSF logo, are paired with the scroll to define the shape of the device.  A polestar, highlighting the distance light travels throughout the universe, serves as a guiding light and shining example for others to follow, underscoring the significance of the recipient’s length of service.
